Specialized Wound Management’s clinical specialists provide patient, family and nursing staff with the necessary education required to care for a patient’s wounds. National events, local conventions and educational in-services are some of the venues that our wound specialists contribute to.
Staff nurses are encouraged to accompany the S.W.M. Nurse Practitioner during wound rounds. This active participation provides educational techniques on prevention, identification and treatment of wounds. S.W.M. can enhance a Skilled Nursing Facility’s (SNF) ability to prevent wounds as well as heal them, often providing education “just in time”.
